What the 5 x Mille Is
The 5 per thousand is a share of taxes that the State waives in order to allocate it to non-profit organizations to support their activities.
The 5 per thousand costs you nothing because it is not an extra tax. If you decide not to sign, the same 5 per thousand share remains with the State.
The 5 per thousand does NOT replace the eight per thousand allocated to religious denominations. They are two different options and it is possible to use both to allocate part of your taxes for different purposes.
You simply need to fill in the section dedicated to the 5 per 1000 within the income tax return forms (Certificazione Unica, 730, Modello Unico persone fisiche), and enter in the specific space dedicated to “Support for volunteering and other non-profit social utility organizations, social promotion associations, and recognized associations and foundations operating in the sectors referred to in art. 10, C.1, Lett.A), of Legislative Decree no. 460 of 1997” the tax code of UNPLI. Then add your signature.

The deadline for submitting the 730 is set for 30 September 2026.
The modello redditi pf 2025 (formerly modello unico) can be submitted by 31 October 2026.
You can donate the 5×1000 even if you do not have to file an income tax return. To do so, simply go to a post office or to a CAF.
